Our Guiding Principles

  • We are committed and dedicated to our organization, our members and to our communities.

  • We welcome, value and support the diversity of skills, expertise, tools and networks of the strong African American women who comprise our membership,

  • We recognize the importance and benefits of supporting the eradication of cancer and partnering with historically black colleges, universities, and others who share our values and support our mission.

The Charmettes, Incorporated is a sisterhood of dedicated women committed to improving the qualtiy of life within our communities through advocacy, education, serivce and support for cancer research. There are 20 chapters active throughout Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolin, Tennessee, Virginia and Washington, DC. In addition to our cancer awareness and education programs, we have contributed more than $967,000.000 to the Howard University Cancer Center. Our goal for 2024 is one million dollars.  The St. Johns-Putnam-Flagler County Chapter of the Charmettes, Inc was sponsored by Mrs. Doris Blackshear and installed in 1975.
